- [Instructor] The chatbot ChatGPT is powered by the GPT models. GPT stands for Generative Pre-trained Transformer, which is a type of neural network-based language model. Generative because the models are capable of generating new content and process data in a way that is inspired by the human brain. It is like interconnected nodes, similar to neurons, in a layered structure that resembles the human brain. The GPT models are pre-trained on a large volume of text and data. It is a type of machine learning process called deep learning that uses NLP to perform generative AI, which comes from the use of transformers. And NLP stands for natural language processing, which is the technology behind generative AI. And this is what gives ChatGPT the ability to understand human language and to generate human-like answers. And generative AI allows humans to interact with the machines in a natural way.
