- [Instructor] Before you install Windows 11 on any device, whether it's a clean install or upgrade, or even to a virtual machine, you need to make sure that the device meets the minimum requirements for installation. Here are those minimums, keep in mind that these are the absolute minimums, though. Some Windows features require additional hardware. For example, if you want to log into Windows using facial recognition or a fingerprint, you'll need compatible hardware to support that. The minimum requirements are as follows. You'll need a one gigahertz processor or faster with two or more cores. It will need to be on a compatible 64 bit processor or system on a chip. You'll need four gigabytes of ram, a 64 gigabyte or larger storage device and system firmware that is UEFI, Secure Boot capable. You'll need a TPM chip. You'll need a compatible graphics card.
