- [Instructor] In the AWS console in the search bar at the top type Identity Center, and click on the entry that auto completes. Click the enable button to create a new Identity Center instance. When setting up Identity Center, AWS will want to create an organization instance for your account. AWS organizations are used to manage one or multiple root accounts across your entire organization from a central place. For instance, your organization might be large enough that each division needs to keep their AWS resources and billing completely separate from other divisions. Or your application might be large enough that you want your sandbox environment kept completely separate from your production environment, or your company manages several different applications spread across several teams, and for compliance, security, or even cost monitoring, it makes sense that each application has its own root account.
