- [Instructor] In this particular chapter, we're going to take a look at dimension annotation and basically we're going to take a brief overview into some of the dimension types that can be used in AutoCAD. So for that particular reason, we've got a new drawing for you. It's called Dimensions dash overview dot dwg. And you can download it from the library to follow along with the videos in this particular chapter. So make sure you open up the file and you're in the model tab, as you can see in the bottom left corner of the AutoCAD screen. Now, one of the first things you need when you are preparing dimension annotation in an AutoCAD drawing is a dimensioning layer. So we're in the home tab on the ribbon, and we're going to go to the layers panel here and click on layer properties. And you'll notice at the moment, we've only got a couple of layers in the drawing itself. Now we've got Defpoints there which I'm not…
