Summarizing test results with ChatGPT

- [Instructor] So you finished running your test suite. Maybe it was 100 tests. Maybe it was 1,000. Some of them passed and some of them failed, and some of them were skipped. The results are just sitting there in a log file or in your continuous integration dashboard. Whew. Now what? In this video, we're going to look at how ChatGPT can help you summarize test results in a way that actually helps people understand what happened, why it matters, and what should happen next, all beyond basic dashboarding. Let's start with a raw log. This might be a JSON export or a test report from jest, pie test or J unit, or just a stream of output copied from your continuous integration pipeline. Copy a snippet of it and paste it into ChatGPT. Start with a prompt like, "Summarize these test results in plain English." You'll usually get a sentence or two. Something like "Out of the so many tests, so many passed, so many failed, and so many were skipped. Most failures occurred in a certain module."…
