Using Custom GPTs to add personal branding
- Another example that I want to give to you, it's the use of custom GPTs. You create a GPT that will have I would say a tone of voice, a way of speaking, a soul to your GPT. I said one word that is always on my mind when I talk about generative AI, is what I call pasteurization of language. What happens, it's when you use I would say normally the GPT is that the answer you receive may not sound like you. For example, it's very easy, because each of us, each company or each individual has a tone of saying and writing things. And sometimes the answers we see on GPT, they are too generic. And the example I said about pasteurization, because what is pasteurization? Pasteurization is when you increase very high the temperature and reduce and to kill the bacteria and make the shelf life, for example, of a milk product, be greater, longer, sorry. And what happens? You kill the bad bacteria, but you kill also the good. You kill also I would say what makes a cheese, for example, unique in taste and in flavor. What happens with GPT is the same. If you take the generic GPT, sometimes you see that the language is pasteurized. It removes I would say your personal style, your way of building a phrase because it's becoming too generic. So, what is the custom GPT? The custom GPT is when you give some specific instructions to the GPT so it'll understand better what is in your mind, and it will receive some instructions on how it should behave. "Should I be formal, less formal?" What should be the focus of this GPT? What is the aim of this GPT? What is the secret sauce of good GPT. The secret sauce is, what is the knowledge base that you are uploading? So, the files you are uploading. So what kind of something unique that you are bringing to that? Because if you are bringing just common knowledge, GPT-4 already have it. So you need to build your corporate specific or your own experience. On the PMOtto, we are building with our own experience. So we put several documents that are reflections that, for example, in my case, I have almost 700 episodes of podcasts where I share about pretty much everything. These are hours and hours and hours of content. and all of it is available on the PMOtto. So, you know, these are reflections. They are not written anywhere. So this is one of the sources. This is the first piece. The second one is how you customize your instructions. You give all the instructions, and what is the difference? On ChatGPT, they do not even know what instructions they should follow. They know OpenAI instructions. - Right. - Because OpenAI, for example, if you ask something about copyright or something like that, OpenAI may say. "I cannot answer that." For example, if you ask a very polemic question, this why ChatGPT will not answer, because OpenAI gave that instruction. On the instruction that that OpenAI has, they did that. On the custom GPT, actually you are doing the same, but you are putting your own. For example, avoid giving opinion on something, you know, and be very fact-based. Put numbers on every single answer. Make sure you read document x.pdf for every single answer you give, and then you can put your corporate policies there.
