- [Alyssa] The second lesson from the module, Attribution, is going to be about cognitive biases. In this lesson, we will start by introducing biases. Then we are going to understand what are the cognitive biases, and we will see some of the common types of cognitive biases in threat intelligence. Dr. Margaret Cunningham, principal research scientist at Forcepoint, defines biases as, "The tendency for people to favor one group, "person, or thing over another, "while unfairly discriminating "against the reminder of choices. "For better or worse, bias is an inescapable feature "of the human experience. "We are shaped by a combination of our environment, "our genetics, and our cognitive ability to process "and make sense of our world.
