(upbeat jingle) - [Instructor] In this session, let's see that how the user plane connectivity is established through the PDU session setup. Now, the PD session is the session which provides a user plane connectivity between the user equipment and the data network or the internet. It represents a logical connection between the device and the network with a specific quality of service characteristics. The first step in the PDU session establishment is the request, which is going from the user equipment to the AMF, the Access and Mobility Management function. And this first message contains certain information such as what is the PDU session ID? If it is a slice, which slice does this particular user wants? What is the data network name? And what are the requested QS parameters, depending upon the services it wants to avail? The AMF then performs certain tasks such as session validation.
