Best practices for Set Key mode
- [Instructor] When animating in Set Key mode, one thing to keep in mind is that any changes to previously key-framed transforms or parameters will not take effect until you click the big plus sign to actually create the keys. That means if you change an animation track, such as rotation, and then go to a different frame by playing, scrubbing, or otherwise touching any transport control, the track will go into playback mode, and whatever changes you are working on will be lost. To demonstrate, I'm on frame zero, and I want to change the animation. I'll activate Set Key mode and go up to the top view, select the camera, activate the rotate tool, and set the reference coordinate system to gimbal. I'll rotate the camera in the gimbal z-axis to pan it around to some other part of the room. And let's say I forget to press the Set Keys button. And I press the Play button. Camera snaps back to what I had before. If I rewind back to frame zero, we see that I have not actually panned the…
