Lead IQ in Sales Navigator gives you powerful lead information with a single click. Lead IQ provides an AI-generated summary of key information about a lead and their company to improve your first interaction with the lead. Learn about their interests, recent activities on LinkedIn, and key information on their company to have more productive, valuable conversations.
The insights on a lead are based on the following:
- LinkedIn public profile of a lead
- Their public activity on LinkedIn such as recent posts
- Public connections or network-related insights
- Strategic priorities and business challenges of a lead's company or account (generated by Account IQ)

The Lead IQ feature is enabled by default. When you access a lead page in Sales Navigator, you will notice a Lead IQ tab. From this tab, click Generate Lead IQ to have insights on the lead generated as a summary for you. Lead IQ is also available on the Lead Panel.
Important to know
Lead insights are generated only when there are a minimum of 3 insights publicly displayed by the lead on their LinkedIn public profile. If your lead does not have enough information on their LinkedIn public profile or has not performed any activity on LinkedIn, then the feature may not have sufficient information to to collate and summarize insights. As a result, you will not see any insights on the lead in Sales Navigator.
Also, Lead IQ is currently is currently in a Beta phase with functionality continuously improving. As a result, you might see changes to Lead IQ because of the following reasons:
- Coverage - The feature itself is currently expanding in coverage. So while those improvements are made, there are profiles that might not yet be covered.
- Language - If a lead's LinkedIn profile is written in a language besides English, Lead IQ will be unable to create a lead summary on this lead.
Lead Insights functions as a one-stop shop where sellers can access important information about a lead. This feature uses generative AI to summarize information about a lead into key talking points for you to use. It analyzes information on the following:
- Public profile of a lead
- Public activities on LinkedIn that the lead has performed, such as recent posts
- Public connections or network-related insights
- Strategic priorities and business challenges of a lead's company or account (generated by Account IQ)
The aim of this feature is to make it easier and faster for you to access important and relevant information on a lead. Using this feature is optional. You can opt to invest time in researching information on your lead using traditional methods.

While we have taken safety precautions in developing Lead Insights in Sales Navigator, it is possible that this feature may still produce surprises or mistakes. If you choose to use the AI-assisted insights, we strongly recommend you review the information before using it in your outreach. Users are ultimately responsible for the information that they use for interacting with leads, and for adhering to applicable laws related to message content.
For customers whose language is set to English, AI-Assisted lead insights uses GPT 3.5 Turbo model. For customers whose language is not set to English, AI-Assisted lead insights uses a GPT model from OpenAI.
