Personal account vs. Recruiter

Last updated: 1 month ago

Your personal LinkedIn account allows you to create a professional presence on the web. Only you can access your profile, edit it, or build and maintain your own network of professional contacts. We offer a Basic (free) account as well as various upgraded Premium accounts (see the Learn more section below to review the differences between accounts), depending on your needs.

People connect with you on LinkedIn as an individual, rather than your company, so invitations aren't offered as a feature on LinkedIn Recruiter. You can only send invitations from your personal LinkedIn account, and not from LinkedIn Recruiter.

LinkedIn Recruiter is a talent search tool that helps enterprise recruiters find and engage candidates for your sourcing needs.

Who can use this feature?

You must have a personal LinkedIn account in order to use Recruiter.

With Recruiter, your team can:

  • Access LinkedIn's entire network of active and passive candidates.
  • Use search filters to zero in on the best candidates.
  • See up to 1,000 profiles in search results, compared to only 100 in a Basic (free) personal account.
  • Synchronize your team's activities with shared projects, searches, profiles, and candidate notes.
  • Contact candidates through InMail, LinkedIn's trusted messaging environment.
  • Post jobs.
