Set up ad rotation for an existing ad set

Rotating ad variations and testing advertising variables can help optimize your ad set results. LinkedIn offers the ability to rotate your ad variations and change elements in your creatives to test performance.

Important to know

You can't select an ad rotation option for ad sets that use the brand awareness objective. However, ads in brand awareness ad sets will default to using the rotate ads evenly option.

To set up ad rotation for an existing ad set:

  1. Go to your ad account in Campaign Manager.

  2. Click Advertise on the left menu.

  3. Select the correct campaign on the Campaigns tab.

  4. On the Ad sets tab, move your cursor over the ad set name and click Edit.

  5. Scroll to the bottom of the Set up Ad Set page and click Next.

  6. On the Ads in this ad set page, you can see the existing ads for the ad set.

  7. Click the  Ads in this ad set icon in the upper-left corner of the page.

  8. In the Ad rotation options dialog, you can select to Optimize for performance (recommended) or Rotate ads evenly.
