More than 40 years ago the inspiration for Make-A-Wish began with one little boy’s wish to be a police officer. Today, together with our volunteers, donors, staff and supporters, Make-A-Wish has granted more than 500,000 life-changing wishes and transformed countless lives worldwide. There is nothing more powerful than making a child’s wish come true. And at Make-A-Wish, we will stop at nothing to ensure every eligible child received a life-changing wish. We’re celebrating the impact of our partner Mt. Olive Pickle Company Inc. this National Pickle Day! This year, wish kid Elowen and her family joined Mt. Olive and Make-A-Wish® Central and Western North Carolina at North Carolina’s Trailblaze Challenge, where hikers pushed their limits to raise funds and awareness for Make-A-Wish. Mt. Olive helped fuel hikers with their iconic Pickle Juicers. Since 2020, Mt. Olive has helped make wishes come true by raising over $900,000. Thank you, Mt. Jackie has always loved triple jumping. It’s a sport that taught her perseverance, focus and strength. After facing kidney disease and receiving a life-changing transplant from her mom, she was determined to give back to the track and field community that inspired her, even through recovery. Thanks to the support of Valley High School and ABC Supply Co. Inc., who is now celebrating six years as a Make-A-Wish partner and over 600 wishes granted, Jackie’s wish became a reality. Together, they unveiled a brand-new long jump and triple jump pit at Valley High School. This is a space where future Valley Patriots can discover the same joy, confidence and sense of possibility that fueled Jackie’s journey. The countdown is on! ✨ We’re proud to share that 20 Make-A-Wish chapters nationwide have been selected by 26 Subaru retailers as hometown charities for the 2025 Subaru Share the Love Event. Since 2011, Subaru of America has been the largest automotive donor to Make-A-Wish. The Subaru Share the Love Event has raised over $38 million, helping grant more than 3,900 life-changing wishes for kids facing critical illnesses. This national partnership is critical to driving hope one wish at a time, all with the help of local Make-A-Wish chapters, Subaru retailers, volunteers and communities.
