We are honoured to share that Sir James Dyson has been conferred the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Engineering from the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), during a special commencement ceremony with SUTD Chancellor and President of the Republic of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam. Addressing the students of SUTD, Sir James said: “This is recognition to the ingenuity of Dyson engineers here in Singapore. SUTD and Dyson share a common belief in challenging convention and improving things through engineering. An engineer's role is to do the unexpected, and the world needs more creative problem solvers! I urge young inventors to believe in their ideas, ignore the doubters, and never be afraid to fail. Be bold. Be different.”
🎉 Congratulations to Sir James Dyson on receiving the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Engineering from SUTD! Today, we proudly conferred our highest honour on Sir James Dyson in recognition of his groundbreaking contributions to design and engineering, and his lifelong dedication to nurturing innovation and talent around the world. This is Sir James’ first honorary degree from a Singapore university, presented by SUTD Chancellor and President of the Republic of Singapore, Tharman Shanmugaratnam.
