Exclusive: Private-equity firm Clearlake Capital Group is buying Pathway Capital Management in a deal that will roughly double its assets under management. The combined firm will manage $185 billion, putting it just below the top 10 firms by assets. In an industry where the traditional growth sources are slowing, Clearlake is one of the firms opting to scale up.
