Hey @wordpresssites in the content of pages where the [gallery] shortcodes are located – has the content been converted over to blocks (so the shortcode is in a shortcode block itself)?
If you could share a link to an example page that would also help with taking a look.

Worked out a temporary solution using code however still interested to know if the gallery shortcodes can be converted from classic to blocks without bulk converting posts to blocks.
Hey @wordpresssites – glad you found a temporary solution. The short answer is that there isn’t a way to just convert the classic galleries without converting the whole post to blocks.
One piece of good news is that there are tools out there for bulk updating posts from Classic to Blocks.
