    Hi guys,

    Any chance to change my username url?
    My username is connected to previous company and i don’t want to use it (also, don’t want to create a new account and lose this account and info)

    Any chance to change it to my profile name? Thanks a lot.

    I’m sorry, but due to how WordPress.org and other non-WordPress software ties together on this site, it is not possible to change user IDs here.

    While the WordPress code does permit the changing of usernames, due to how this site’s systems interact with many other systems it is not possible to change user IDs here. It breaks many things badly when it is even tried. And it has been tried before.

    however, you can change the display name.

    If you want a new user ID then create a new one and abandon this one. You will need a different email address for that new account.

    No, you cannot change your username on a WordPress.org account once it has been set. However, you can create a new account with a different username if necessary but if you want to change how your name appears publicly (for example, for blog posts or comments), you can modify the display name in your profile settings without changing your username.
