    Hello,

I’m doing a few test searches with Relevanssi and this one caught my attention: https://macmagazine.com.br/?s=v%C3%ADdeo+convites

I was expecting this post [https://macmagazine.com.br/post/2025/02/08/video-conhecendo-o-mais-novo-app-da-apple-o-convites/] to be the first search result, as it’s the only one from all the results with both search terms in the title. Yet, it ranked 5th.

Here are the scores from the admin search:

Found a total of 99 posts, showing posts 1–99.

Temos seis convites para o Joost, quem quer? [atualizada 3x] post (Editar post)
    Ponto: 502.93

    Ponto: 454.4

Is there any way I can improve this?

    Thank you!

Looking at the first post, it has word “video” once, but the word “convites” 25 times. Your target post has “video” twice and “convites” only four times.

If you increase the title weight a lot, that should boost the post closer to the top.

Up until now, I had my weights set this way:

    • Content: 2
    • Title: 6
    • Tags: 1
    • Categories: 1

I’ve increased Title to 10, but it made little difference. I had to boost it to 20(!) and now that post I think should be 1st jumped to 3rd.

I might leave it this way, but is it common among users to set the Title’s weight so high like that?

That isn’t a very high value. I usually recommend setting the weight to 100 to ensure you get a visible effect.

    Got it! Will try that.

I was just making sure setting such high values wasn’t something totally out of ordinary. Thanks.

There’s no upper limit for the relevance scores, and drastic moves are the best for making a big splash.
