Hello, I am using Windows 10, with Chrome Browser. WordPress and Kadence theme up to date as of Aug. 14, 2024.
The Events Block for Events Calendar installed and activated fine. In a page, I located the Events block and added it to my page, but I get this message
“This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed.”
I have one event which displays fine if using built in Events List block. What can be the problem? Thank you. Salvador

This can be traced back to a fatal error the plugin is throwing:
PHP Fatal error: Uncaught TypeError: implode(): Argument #1 ($array) must be of type array, string given in .../wp-content/plugins/events-block-for-the-events-calendar/includes/ebec-block.php:93
Yes, I have event categories. Here is the screen recording showing Event Settings, Event Categories, and a demo of the issue. If something more/else is required, let me know. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing the video. But, I tried this on my end and with latest version, doesn’t face any issue. When you are adding the block are you able to see the block settings on the right or not?
Could you help us with the theme name, our plugin version you are using and also the list of other plugins so we can create the same scenario at our end?
Also, share the console errors, if you are getting.
I am using the Kadence theme. I switched over to Twenty Twenty, same results. When I add the Events Block, I get the menu under the three vertical dots:
When I am looking at the page without selecting anything:
This is what is under the three vertical dots when I select the block and click on the three dots:
The following is an image of all the plug-ins that I am using, currently, most are deactivated.
We checked the scenario at our end and everything seems to be working out at our end.
Could you please check if you are getting any errors in console or in error log file? Also, it would be great if you can create a test page and add the block on that page and share the link with us.
Hello, apologies for the late reply. For some reason I was not notified that there had been a response in this thread.
I went ahead and tested. First, I deactivated the Events calendar (top image) and went to edit the page. The second test involved activating the Calendar Events, but now deactivating the Block for Calendar Events (bottom image). The results are shown in the images below.
I am beginning to think that the problem lies with InfinityFree, the hosting service that I am using. Which hosting service are you using to test? Thanks!

It seems to be some problem in the test case you performed as our plugin Events Block works with The Event Calendar if you deactivate the main plugin it will definitely show you the error.
Please test this with activating The Event Calendar plugin and let us know if that still gives you error.
