Thanks for responding. Right now when you go to the page where I have used the shortcode
[sdm_show_dl_from_category category_slug="foundations-of-faith" fancy="2"]
it shows the cards for the shortcode but the cards link to nothing. I want them to link to the single page for the specific download. I also want the button from the fancy 1 design to be used in fancy 2. I can’t figure out a way to achieve both of those.
I tested the link you shared above and when I click on a card “Image” it opens up on a page with details. Is this what you mean? Or am I not clicking on the correct link?

I figured this out, just wrote a small plugin to add Feature Image to the UI and then used a Blog Post Block that allows custom post types to be filtered by category. Happy to share that.
