@ik01 You can use the below shortcode to get latest 10 products. Any other filters you can customize from the plugin settings page: /wp-admin/admin.php?page=woo-products-slider-pro
On this shortcode to get latest product just add order='DESC' orderby='date' param.
[woopspro_products_slider order='DESC' stock_status='instock' limit='10' orderby='date']

Thats great thank you so much for your help. Just one more question. is there a limit on how many sale items are displayed? I have left it to display all but its not displaying all sale items.
@ik01 if you omit the limit param then it will return all available on sale products…

Thank you again for your help. The recent products shortcode works fine. But the on sale slider only displays 14 products max even if the limit param is removed. I am not sure where the problem is.

@ik01 If you have removed the limit param, then it will fetch all products, so check how many products you have set as on sell and then check if same amount of products are showing or not. Cause it will only fetch which products are on sale only.

I have figured out the issue…only simple products are shown for the sale items. Any variable product on sale is not shown.
