I am trying to import data from a csv file containing user sign-ups for our site. Our default method is the usual UM profile form. The data we are uploading comes from our alternative simplified sign-up form (used for users who are IT challenged, e.g. with slow connections or trying to do it on a phone). We upload the data using the ‘Import and Export Users and Customers’ plugin. Everything works fine except for one field:

    The field key is db_caf_possible_artist_dates_times.
This is filled normally from the Ultimate Member (UM) profile form: this question is checkbox (multiple options type). We’ve replicated the same question and format (off site, using Liberaforms, ‘LF’). Oddly, the data goes is accepted OK and is there (I can download it again) and it appears identical in format to that generated by UM. However, the data is not populating the user profile. The data is in this format (example from each):

    Generated by UM:
Saturday 9 May, Afternoon, Saturday 9 May, Evening, Monday 11 May, Afternoon
    Generated by LF:
Saturday 9 May, Morning, Saturday 9 May, Afternoon, Saturday 9 May, Evening

Any ideas on what might be going wrong?

Oh dear – “uploadin list gata” of course should read “uploading list data”!

The comma separated string must be an array.

Thank you for this. I’ve tried separating each date slot in the list with :: but it is only accepting the last term. So for Saturday 9 May, Morning ::Saturday 9 May, Afternoon ::Saturday 9 May, Evening ::Sunday 10 May, Morning ::Sunday 10 May, Afternoon ::Sunday 10 May, Evening it only accepts ‘Sunday 10 May, Evening’.
The other possibility is that it needs serialised data (that seems to be what is in the database for this field), but I don’t know if there is a way to convert a list like the above into the appropriate serialised data.

Yes arrays are serialized in the DB.
Ask your import plugin support how to solve this issue.
