• Note: My website’s pages are optimized for mobile use only, they will look weird if opened in desktop mode.

Hello everyone! I’ll try to best explain this issue that has been ongoing for months. I want to start by saying I’m just an amateur web developer, I built this mobile-focused website with a lot of pages in Elementor (that page is just an example, and it may look normal when you open it), it is a sort of “platform” where people scan a qr code and can view lots of information, this platform was stylized to look like a mobile app with the menu and buttons. My issue here is, the normal look of the pages should be this one

And when they get messed up they look like this

For some reason the way to solve this is simply logging into WordPress and just opening the pages, and after I do that I refresh the page on my phone and it goes back to normal. It is very frustrating because this didn’t happen so often before but now in just mere days they all get messed up. Is this something to do with cache or maybe CSS? Hopefully this is something easy to solve because it took me a high amount of effort to do from zero with my limited knowledge. If someone could help me I would be really grateful, I just want them to work normally again and be free of worry that they’ll break at any moment.

I recommend getting in touch with Elementor’s support about this via https://elementor.com/support/ if you have any of their paid products or https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/elementor/ if you do not.

Oh, do you think this is an issue with Elementor? I will try making this post in their forum, I didn’t use paid version. Thanks for the suggestion!

Yes, Elementor could be one reason. The styles that appear to be missing in your screenshot are provided by this page builder.

However, I can still see “Endurance Page Cache” in the source code. This is provided by one of the plugins you are using. This could also be responsible for the issue. You would need to check which plugin is generating this and deactivate it.

I just did some research on that and found this tab of “must use” in the plugins section:

Apparently, it’s a plugin installed by Hostgator, my website’s host provider. Is it a useless plugin? Should I delete it? Never saw that tab before

Must Use Plugins cannot be controlled via the backend. It may have been installed by your host. You therefore have the following options:

    • Contact your host’s support team and ask whether the plugin could be causing your problem and, if so, whether anything can be done about it. They will certainly be able to remove it for you if you wish.
    • Or simply remove it and see if this changes the behavior of your website. You can only remove it via FTP. Your host’s support team can help you connect to it.

Basically, I wouldn’t call a plugin useless. Even “Endurance Page Cache” has a purpose that should help your website. It’s probably an optimization plugin designed to increase the speed of your website’s output. It also moves the style information into a cache – a process that is probably (!) problematic in your case. It’s your decision whether you want to use it for your project. If not, proceed as described above. If your project needs optimization in this regard, take a look at this article first: https://developer.wordpress.org/advanced-administration/performance/optimization/ – if not, you could also do without any plugins for this. It’s up to you.
