    Hi

How do I turn this setting off. It’s really not great to have as it obviously gives the user the wrong email address!

    Thanks

It adds extra characters after the first name of the email address. I have this plugin installed on many sites, and I am just waiting for the influx of calls saying you have made a mistake with our email address.

    Hello @davvam ,

    Thank you for your message.

The email obfuscation is intended behavior in Complianz. It’s a spam-prevention feature designed to make it harder for bots and crawlers to harvest email addresses. By default, there is no UI toggle to disable it, but we’re taking your feedback on board, and it’s something we may add in a future update.

If you want to turn it off right now, you can disable obfuscation using this filter: https://gist.github.com/tonai126/4e136dd798b2d057cb051e9493539e5a.
You can add this as a small MU-plugin or via a code-snippet plugin.

    Also important to note:
If you see the email displayed incorrectly (for example: mail@ex.comdomain.com), that is usually caused by CSS or caching exposing the obfuscated version instead of letting the browser render it properly.

I hope this helps, I remain at your disposal.

    Best regards,
    Antonio
