“You attempted to edit an item that doesn’t exist. Perhaps it was deleted?”

I do use CPT UI plugin for creating custom post types, but I’ve already reached out to their support forum and they said it’s a WP core issue, which’s why I’m here.

I looked further into the error and found the following fixes from here:

    1. Draft or Deleted Content – […]
    2. Database Issues – […]
    3. Permalink Issues – […]
    4. Plugin Conflict – […]
    5. Theme Issue – […]
    6. WordPress Core Files Issue – […]
    7. Hosting issue – […]

I tried the instructions for all of them, none of them worked. Repaired and optimized my db, restarted permalink, deactivated all plugins and tried again, changed my theme, reinstalled wp core, etc.

But tbh I think what may be my case is the permalink issue. I used to have default categories with the same name as my CPT, which were still a thing when I first got this issue, however I’ve already deleted all traces of it, changed the permalink for something else, cleared cache and even cookies, waited for my daily cache reset, and it’s still showing the same error…

Is it really because of the permalink? Perhaps I still have remnants of the old categories in my database and that’s what’s causing the issue? I have no idea what’s going on 🙁

Thanks for the attention either way!
