    Hello,

My site used to work until yesterday morning, but now it shows config.php content (that’s why I put a wrong database’s password so visitors cannot see it). Can you help?

    Thanks a lot,

Then PHP is apparently no longer running on your hosting. Contact your hoster’s support team to resolve this. They will also provide you with the PHP version and will have to solve this.

    Hello @lenavigateur
As @threadi said this could be the PHP issue. Or
    1. Turn on maintenance mode first using simple index.html file so it can not show your DB credentials.
    2. Make sure you have correct htaccess file.
    3. Check if PHP is disabled on your server.
    4. Check if is there any misconfiguration in the apache or nginx if you are using cloud server.
    5. Reach out to your hosting provider and tell them you are facing this issue.

    Thanks!

The PHP was actually working but the (old) WordPress default theme caused a fatal error, so in recovery mode I could fix it.
