• Can this plugin add a HazMat Fee to specific products and specific variation sizes (1 gallon or larger)?

Some of our products require a fixed HazMat fee for EACH gallon or larger container size. Can we go into individual products and set additional fee for certain size variations?

    Hi Dick Raney,

Thank you for sharing your requirements with us!

Our plugin includes a feature that allows you to set fees based on product variations, which sounds like a great fit for your use case.

Give it a try and let me know how it works for you — I’m happy to assist further if needed.

That shows how I could set up an extra fee for the HazMat fee on for size option 1 gallon or larger. Does it also allow to charge the extra fee per each item? So, if there is a $25 fee for a 1-gallon jug, can it charge $50 if they order 2 of them? And if they order 1 gallon of another product that has the same fee, it would need to charge $75 since there are 3 items that have HazMat fees.

Actually, I found out that the HazMat fee is charged per box and up to four gallon containers can fit in one box, so we need a way to charge the fees like this:

    • Only charge HazMat fee on certain products and only in gallon size or larger.
    • Charge the HazMat fee per box containing hazardous products
    • Pack up to 4 gallons of hazardous products in single box

    Examples:

    1. order one 1-gallon container of a hazardous item = HazMat Fee x 1 (one box)
    2. order four 1-gallon containers, only 2 of them are hazardous = HazMat Fee x 1 (one box)
    3. order four 1-gallon containers, all of them are hazardous = HazMat Fee x 1 (one box)
    4. order five 1-gallon containers, 4 of them are hazardous = HazMat Fee x 1 (all hazardous in one box)
    5. order five 1-gallon containers, all of them are hazardous = HazMat Fee x 2 (two boxes)

So, only charge the fee on first hazardous item and then every 4th one.

    Hi Dick,

Thanks for explaining your HazMat fee setup in such detail — that’s a very clear and thoughtful breakdown! 👏

What you’ve described is a per-box fee logic based on product quantity, size, and type, which is a bit more advanced than the default capabilities of our free plugin.

The type of box-based, quantity-grouped logic you’re looking for would require advanced rule configurations.

So, it would be good if you could try it out on your end for all cases using either the demo or trial version.

Again, great job defining the rules so clearly!

    Best regards,
