Sorry to hear that! Unfortunately, I can’t seem to reproduce this using the latest version of the plugin (1.5.1) on WordPress 4.5.3 and WordPress 4.6 Beta 2. The code itself wouldn’t explain this either.
Can you give me a little bit more information so I can track down the issue?
For example, the thread title is “Fatal error upon activation” but you describe a fatal error on the settings page. Where does the error occur exactly?
Also, does this happen with the latest version of the plugin and all other plugins disabled?
Hi,
Thanks for the quick answer. I’m running the last version of the plugin and WordPress 4.5.3.
Disabling all plugins except for this one gets the same error message. I’ve also tried to unsintall, install again, same result.
Installing and activating seems to work ok. When you click on the settings to configure it, the error appears. Screenshot: http://imgur.com/7U7Oqb3
Hope this info helps.
Thanks for getting back and adding a screenshot!
Do you know the PHP version you’re running by chance? If not, your hoster should be able to give you that information.
Otherwise I’ll do some tests on older PHP versions (current is 7.0) to see if I can reproduce this somehow.
I’ll keep you posted!
I don’t know what PHP version I have on my server. It’s Siteground shared, so I guess the latest.
Thanks for the help.
Hey there,
Good news! This has been fixed in WP Widget Disable 1.6.0.
It turned out to be an incompatibility with PHP versions older than 5.4. Which means the version you’re running is really old. I’d recommend you to talk to your host to upgrade to the latest version. PHP 7 usually makes sites load almost twice as fast as before.
