    Hi all,
    after one more or less one year I got back to my page trying to test a form created with cformsII.
    While trying to submit an entry I got this this error (everything was working fine one year ago and I haven’t changed anything on purpose):

    “Error occurred while sending the message: You must provide at least one recipient email address.”

    I have:
    – Worpress 5.6.4 running.
    – cformsII Version 14.12.3
    I have read that this error might be related to PHPmailer. Could this be the case?
    If so, how to downgrade it?

    Thanks in advance for support!

    Additional note:
    “old” version of cformsII is needed due to usage of field {ID} which has removed starting form cformsII Version 14.4 (see topic https://wordpress.org/support/topic/bringing-id-of-form-submission-in-autoconfirmation/#post-9681114)

    I was after the same issue and I found a clue, I hope this helps:

    The issue is caused due a problem with PHP version (7.x) which uses a new regular expression engine, affecting the validation email regular expression and firing an error.

    The solution is updating the regular expression on lib_email.php

    The new regular expression should be:
    ‘/([\w\-\+\.]+@([\w\-]+\.)+[\w\-]{2,63})/’;

    where the ‘+’ is slashed.

    This error is visible with WP_DEBUG=true

    Notice this error only happen with this very specific regular expression, I scanned the plugin but there weren’t no errors related with any other regular expression.

    Even though I suggest someone else check all the reg. expressions, this issue would affect this and many other plugins.
