Hi @paaljoachim,
I understand your concern about the reauthorization process and the approaching deadline. Let me help clarify what’s happening.
What you’re experiencing is actually normal for the Stripe reauthorization process. Even though it says “Create your cost free Stripe account,” this is just how Stripe’s interface works when reconnecting an existing account. You’re not actually creating a new account, you’re reauthorizing the existing one.
Here’s what you should do:
- Continue with the process using her existing email address
- When prompted, she should use her existing Stripe login credentials (not create new ones)
- If she doesn’t remember her Stripe password, she can use the “Forgot password” option
- The system will recognize the existing account and reauthorize it properly
The key is to use the same email address that’s associated with her current Stripe account. This will link back to her existing account rather than creating a duplicate.
I hope that helps. Let us know if you need anything else.
Great! Thank you Frank!
Thank you very much for your very clear instructions! It is very much appreciated.
With help from the client I was able to confirm/reauthorize the site.
Hi @paaljoachim
I appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, and I’m glad to hear that you were able to successfully confirm and reauthorize the site with your client — that’s great news!
Since you mentioned this was a smooth experience, would you mind taking a moment to leave a quick review for the WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway plugin? I noticed you haven’t left one before, and your feedback would mean a lot to us and help other store owners too. You can do so here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce-gateway-stripe/reviews/#new-post
Thank you again for your kind words and for helping your client stay ahead of the reauthorization deadline!
