It all began with curiosity, a simple desire to understand how websites are built without coding. As a student with a deep interest in tech and design, I often found myself attracted to the idea that anyone could create something impactful with WordPress. But I didn’t know where to start until I discovered WordPress.

It was a monthly meet-up organized by the Edutech Club about digital skills and internet basics, with the hunger to look for tech knowledge and information through communities. In this process, I interacted and connected with the Edutech club, so I started attending their monthly meet-ups under all conditions. However much I ever gave in attending, then came a meet-up about WordPress that we organized as passionate and wanting people.

I attended my first meet-up about WordPress, which was an introduction, and so many others were about how it eases the act of writing articles or blogs. I never knew of its existence in technology but got interested and promised myself. WordPress Bootcamp was organized by the Edutech Club (Team leader), with whom I requested to be in. Since then, I have started using WordPress. I started taking part in a portfolio project that required building a website. With its intuitive dashboard, plugins, and themes, it didn’t take long for me to realize: this wasn’t just a tool, it was an ecosystem.

It turned into my first real website, a blog focused on education and tech. As I played around with plugins, changed themes, and explored the backend, I began to understand the powerful role WordPress plays in democratizing publishing and web creation. You don’t have to be a seasoned developer to build something beautiful. You just need a vision, and WordPress makes the rest achievable. As I grew more confident, I dove deeper. I started experimenting with customizations, learning how to troubleshoot issues, and exploring how WordPress could serve different industries. I even joined competitions, most notably, a Uganda Website Project Competition, where my team proudly participated. That experience pushed me to dig into WordPress not just as a user, but as a facilitator, designer, and innovator.

Since then, I’ve helped others build their first websites, led workshops as a digital skills facilitator, and even facilitated training sessions where I introduced students and professionals to WordPress for their first time. Watching someone’s eyes light up when they realize, like having a mind targeted, “Wait, I can do this!” That’s the kind of magic WordPress enables.
For me, WordPress isn’t just a CMS. It’s a community. A launchpad. A bridge between creativity and possibility. Every website I create is more than just a project—it’s a story being told, a dream being realized, a problem being solved. And I’m just getting started.

Whether I’m designing educational blogs, community-driven platforms, or interactive sites for social impact, WordPress remains at the core of my digital journey. I’m here not just to build, but to learn, share, and grow with this ever-evolving community, and I am currently the person who helps out others and introduces the community to WordPress.
